Roman Catholic church in Church Lane. Holy Mass is normally celebrated at 6.30 pm on Saturday evenings and on the eves of holydays. [Different arrangements for Holy Week and Christmas]. There is also Mass on Tuesday evening at 6 pm but visitors should check before setting out.

Location: Travelling West on the A689 Turn right up Church Lane. This is the oldest church site in Weardale, with 900 years of history. The existing church is the work of the Victorians in the middle of the nineteenth century. Normal Service Times: Sunday. 8.00am Holy Communion 10.45am Holy Communion. 1st, 3rd, 5th Sunday. Second Sunday Matins and 4th Sunday Family Service. For Special Services - See Church notice board. Thornley Parish Church Services - 1st Sunday 9.30am Family Service and the rest BCP Holy Communion.
