Wolsingham is situated in County Durham at the Gateway to Weardale and the North Pennines AONB. It can be found just to the west of the A68 Darlington - Corbridge road, and bissected by the A689.

Regular bus services operate from Durham, Bishop Auckland and Consett, and additional services from Newcastle at peak times.

Train services are available from Bishop Auckland, and main-line services from Durham or Darlington. National and International flights (by full-service, low cost and charter operators) are available at Newcastle and Teesside airports, both within 40 minutes drive. International Car Ferry services are available from Norway, Sweden and the Netherlands into Newcastle and Teesside.

Soon we will be served by the re-opened Heritage Railway from Bishop-Auckland to Eastgate, which has its main engineering centre in Wolsingham
